Meet some of the artists who have found inspiration from their visit to Oliva and their stay at Casa Posidonia…
Trisha Adams: "I loved staying at Casa Posidonia. The house was nicely renovated with wifi and air conditioning. One can walk all over town -- to the market, to restaurants and to the art supply store. The people were friendly and many spoke English. I painted five paintings during my two-week residency -- two were from Piles Beach, two were from the nearby town of Gandia and The Gardener's House in Oliva. There was plenty of subject matter I didn't get to. Maybe next time!"
Mary Mindiola: "Going to Oliva, Spain was an amazing experience, personal and professionally. Getting to live for two weeks in a small town and experiencing first hand how life is tranquil and slow paced is to recharge your soul. You can work on art at your own pace and in a peaceful, safe and very sunny environment. People are very friendly in Spain and the wine is the best! I went with my husband and also took some days after to travel around Valencia, Murcia and Andalucía to see more towns and castles. I came back recharged with tones of inspiration pictures, memories and plans for more work to be created . Thank you Beth and Chris for this great experience."
Lynn Mehta: "I just returned from a trip to Spain along the Mediterranean Sea. I completed dozens of paintings and studies. This region has such an inspiring landscape which really speaks to me. I couldn't get enough of it. I loved the quality of light and the richness of color, the drifting clouds over the Mediterranean Sea, the mountains, orchards, stone... Wow!"
Lisa Van Meter: "Thank you so very much for the opportunity to stay in Oliva at Casa Posidonia! Spain exceeded our expectations. As an artist, I was hit with boundless inspiration! The light, the endless stunning views!"
Andrei Kushnir: "Upon arriving at the Casa Posidonia, I immediately climbed the inside stairs to the deck on the top of the building. 'This is Spain!' I thought and immediately took out my paint box, fixed up my pallet and focused on the iconic steeple and church dome. The rooftops and the narrow street. Just being in this magical place was all the inspiration I needed to create this painting."
Heather Sink: "The house is beautiful and feels very comfortable. This whole area has a lot to offer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your home with us. This will always be a cherished memory for us."
